VIDEORECIPE Homemade Russian Paskha dessert
This easy recipe teaches how to make the best homemade Pashka, one of the most loved Russian desserts. Don't miss it!
- 250 g unsalted butter
- 200 g vanilla sugar
- 1 large yolk
- 750 ml fresh Fromage cheese or Greek yoghurt
- orange zest
- 45 g almond
- 12 g dates
Place the butter in a large bowl and whisk until it is light and fluffy. Slowly add the sugar and whisk until it is thoroughly combined, then add the egg yolk and mix well.
Add the cheese or yoghurt in thirds, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla and the zest of one orange, mix well, and then add the lightly toasted almonds and the dates.
Pout the mixture into a prepared mould with cheesecloth. Fold it edges and cover the pashka. Set some weight on the top and refrigerate for 12 hours.
Unwrap the cheesecloth and place a serving plate on top of the mould. Then, flip the plate. Remove the mould and the cheesecloth.
Decorate the paskha as you like and enjoy!
