- 3 cups of self-raising flour
- 1 Cup of full cream milk
- pinch of salt
- A splash of lemon juice
- 80 g of unsalted butter
- Homemade or store-bought strawberry jam
- whipped cream
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and gradually add the milk and lemon juice, mixing until a dough forms.
Lightly dust a flat surface with flour and slightly knead the dough.
Use a round cutter to cut out the scones and place them onto a lined baking tray.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes or until the scones are golden brown.
Once baked, allow the scones to cool slightly on a wire rack.
Cut the scones in half and spread each half with a generous amount of strawberry jam and top with a dollop of whipped cream.
Serve warm with a cup of your favorite tea.
