Easy Homemade Salted Caramel Sauce

This delightful Homemade Salted Caramel recipe offers a perfect balance of sweet and salty with a wonderfully smooth texture. It's an easy-to-follow recipe and you'll have a heavenly, velvety, and luscious salted caramel sauce that can be used in a variety of ways, from a topping for your favorite desserts to a filling in pastries, cookies and more.

  • 6 tbls of unsalted butter (room temperature) Added to
  • 12 Cup of heavy cream (room temperature) Added to
  • 1 teaspoon of flakey sea salt Added to

1. Step

Pour the sugar into a saucepan over medium heat and continuously stir it using a wooden spoon. The sugar will begin to form clumps and eventually melt into a thick amber-coloured liquid as you continue to stir.

2. Step

As soon as the sugar is completely melted, add the butter. The mixture will vigorously bubble when the butter is added.

3. Step

Stir the butter into the caramel until it's completely melted. If you notice the butter separating, remove from heat and vigorously whisk to combine it back together.

4. Step

Slowly stir in the heavy cream until the mixture is smooth, then allow the mixture to boil for one minute.

5. Step

Remove from the heat, then stir in the sea salt.

6. Step

Allow the caramel to cool down before using. It will thicken up while cooling.
