Boiled tomato sauce for pasta
Recipe for a boiled tomato sauce for pasta that you can prepare to stock up for the whole winter.
Ingredients
- 2 kg fresh tomatoes
- 1 pcs red onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 a handful Fresh herbs (basil, oregano thyme)
- 2 spoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Salts
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1⁄2 spoons ground black pepper

Directions
Wash the tomatoes and cut into quarters. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and add the onion and garlic. Sauté them for a few minutes until the onions start to change colour.
Then add the chopped tomatoes, salt, sugar and pepper. Cover and cook for about an hour on medium heat. Slow cooking will release all the flavors and make your sauce delicious.
When the tomatoes are completely soft, add the fresh herbs. Then blend the sauce with an immersion blender until smooth.
Pour the finished sauce into the pre-prepared boiling jars. Always make sure the jars are clean and sterile to avoid unwanted fermentation.
Close the jars and boil for about 20 minutes.
Once cooled, remove them from the pot and store in a dark place.
