- 4 pears
- 3 tablespoon sugar
- 20 g butter
- 1.8 kg pig or turkey ham
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 160 ml honey
- 3 cloves tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp mustard
Place your ham in a baking dish and on top, make diagonal cuts 2 centimetres apart and approximately 1 centimetre deep.
Insert 1 clove at each intersection.
Stir together the honey, pineapple juice, mustard, soy sauce and sugar.
Pour over the ham, spreading it over the entire surface.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C.
Slice the pears and cut them diagonally.
In 15 minutes periods, coat the ham with the glaze.
In a frying pan, melt the butter and pour the pears with the 2 tablespoons of sugar.
When the surface of the ham is golden brown and the glaze is thick, remove it from the oven. Cook the ham for 1 hour.
Cover with the glaze and decorate with pears.
