Directions

45 min.
1. Step

Start by preheating the oven to 180 degrees. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured work surface.

2. Step

In a frying pan, quickly sauté the spinach until it is slightly wilted. Be careful not to let it dry out too much, often this mistake will cause your tree to be dry.

3. Step

Fold the feta cheese and a little salt into the spinach, and allow the mixture to cool slightly.

4. Step

Using a knife, gently trace the shape of the tree and the trunk onto the dough.

5. Step

Spread the garlic mixture on the bottom pastry and place the second hazelnut pastry on top.

6. Step

Cut the twigs with a knife and twist them together.

7. Step

Brush the top of the tree with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. In this section, you can play around a bit with the decorations and create your own unique design.

8. Step

Bake the tree in the oven for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough is a nice golden brown. It is important to check frequently to make sure it does not overbake.
