Simple Homemade Breakfast Sausage Patties
A fulfilling blend of delicious sausage meat and a mixture of herbs and spices, these homemade sausage patties are perfect for breakfast or brunch. They're so easy to make and are much healthier than store-bought ones, with every bit as much flavor.
- 1 lb of ground pork
- 1⁄2 tsp of salt
- 1⁄2 tsp of ground black pepper
- 1⁄2 tsp of ground sage
- 1⁄2 tsp of dried thyme
- 1⁄4 tsp of brown sugar
- 1⁄4 tsp of Cayenne pepper
- 1⁄4 tsp of red pepper flakes
- 1⁄4 tsp of ground cloves
- 1⁄4 tsp of nutmeg
- 2 tbls of vegetable oil
First, combine the ground pork, salt, black pepper, sage, thyme, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, cloves, and nutmeg in a large mixing bowl.
Mix everything together until all the ingredients are well incorporated. The mixture should hold together and not crumble easily.
Shape the mixture into patties. Depending on how big you want your patties to be, you should get about 8 patties.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the pan.
Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until they are nicely browned and fully cooked.
Transfer the cooked patties to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve the patties while they're hot with your favorite breakfast items.
Enjoy your home-cooked, flavor-packed sausage patties.
