Grandma's Old-Fashioned Chicken Salad Sandwich
A light and refreshing lunch or dinner option, this chicken salad sandwich features juicy shredded chicken, crisp celery, and creamy dressing wrapped up in soft bread. It's the perfect balance of flavors and textures, satisfying all your cravings in one. Enjoy this heartwarming staple that’s quick to prepare!
- 2 cups of shredded chicken (can use rotisserie chicken)
- 0.6 cups of mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 cup of chopped celery
- 1⁄4 cup of chopped red onion
- 1⁄2 tsp of salt
- 1⁄2 tsp of pepper
- 1 tsp of dried dill or parsley
- 8 sl of bread (whole grain, or your preference)
- Lettuce leaves and tomato slices for serving
Shred the chicken into small pieces if not pre-shredded.
In a large bowl, add the shredded chicken, chopped celery, chopped red onion, salt, pepper, and dried dill or parsley.
Add mayonnaise to the ingredients in the bowl. Mix thoroughly until everything is well combined.
Spread the chicken salad evenly among 4 slices of bread. Place lettuce and tomato on top, if desired. Close with the remaining slices of bread.
Cut the sandwiches into halves or quarters as prefered and serve immediately.
