- 1 l tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic
- 300 ml water
- a pinch of bicarbonate of soda
- 3⁄4 fresh basil leaves
- extra virgin olive oil
Put the tomato pulp in a bowl.
In a small saucepan pour a couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and sauté one or two whole and peeled cloves of garlic, then add the tomato pulp.
After two minutes, add the water, salt and a pinch of bicarbonate or sugar to balance the acidity of the tomato and simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat and add the fresh basil, breaking up the leaves with your hands. The tomato sauce is now ready for your fantastic recipes. Enjoy!
