Hot Aperol

As a true fan of the classic Aperol Spritz, I decided to create a warming and cozy version of this cocktail - the Hot Aperol. After some experimentation and slight adjustments, I finally managed to find the perfect balance between the bitter-sweet taste of Aperol and the warm, pleasant feeling of hot drinks. Directions

15 min.
1. Step

To prepare Hot Aperol, first pour the orange juice and apple juice into a small saucepan and heat, but do not bring to the boil. I recommend heating the juice slowly on a medium heat to preserve all the flavors.

2. Step

Now add the orange slices, cloves and cinnamon stick. I have found that adding whole spices keep the flavor intense and make the drink visually attractive.

3. Step

Mix in the Aperol and honey or agave syrup and leave to infuse for a further 5 minutes. Make sure that the mixture does not boil, as this will change the taste of the Aperol.

4. Step

After 5 minutes, pour the mixed drinks through a strainer into prepared heatproof jars to remove the spices. I have learned that using a fine mesh strainer works best and helps to remove even the smallest pieces of spice.

5. Step

Serve the Hot Aperol immediately, garnished with orange zest and a pinch of cinnamon powder. Adding garnishes is optional, but I have found that they add extra flavor and make the drink look even more appealing.
