Easy Spicy Tuna Avocado Sushi Roll

This recipe for Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll is a classic favorite for sushi lovers. Fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly easy to make, now you can enjoy the wonderful taste of spicy tuna rolls right from your own kitchen. The spiciness of the tuna mix is perfectly balanced by the cool, tangy vinegared sushi rice, making it a mouth-watering delight.

For Sushi Rice:

  • 2 cups sushi rice Added to
  • 2 cups water Added to
  • 14 Cup rice vinegar Added to
  • 2 tbls sugar Added to
  • 1 teaspoon salt Added to

For Sushi Roll:

  • 4 letters nori (seaweed) Added to
  • 8 ounces sushi grade tuna, finely chopped Added to
  • 2 tbls mayonnaise Added to
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha Added to
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced Added to
  • 1 ripe avocado, thinly sliced Added to
  • Soy sauce, for serving (optional) Added to

1. Step

Rinse the sushi rice with cold water until the water runs clear.

2. Step

In a pot, bring rice and water to boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for 20 minutes. Let it cool.

3. Step

In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Heat until sugar and salt are fully dissolved. Set aside to cool.

4. Step

Once rice and vinegar mixture are both cooled, mix them together until rice is evenly coated.

5. Step

In a bowl, mix the chopped tuna, mayonnaise, and sriracha.

6. Step

Arrange a sheet of nori on the sushi mat. Wet your fingers and press a thin layer of sushi rice on the sheet leaving a 1-inch gap at the top edge.

7. Step

Layer the spicy tuna, cucumber, and avocado along the bottom edge of the rice-covered nori.

8. Step

Roll up tightly using the sushi mat.

9. Step

Repeat with the remaining ingredients.

10. Step

Cut each roll into six even pieces using a sharp, wet knife.

11. Step

Serve the sushi rolls with soy sauce, if desired.
