Easy Homemade Classic Fruit Sherbet

Easy Sherbet is a light, fruity, and refreshing dessert perfect for a hot summer day or any occasion needing a sweet, cool treat. It requires just 3 ingredients and is quite easy to make. Prepare it ahead and enjoy homemade sherbet, it's always a hit!

  • 2 cups of fruit juice (choice of orange, pineapple etc.) Added to
  • 1 Cup of white granulated sugar Added to
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice Added to

Directions

1. Step

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the sugar with 1 cup of fruit juice.

2. Step

On medium heat, slowly dissolve the sugar into the juice, stirring continuously. This usually takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Make sure your sugar is fully dissolved.

3. Step

Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from heat and add in the remaining fruit juice and lemon juice. Stir well.

4. Step

Pour the mixture into a shallow dish, or ice cream maker if available, and let it cool in the refrigerator for an hour.

5. Step

If using a shallow dish, after an hour move the dish to the freezer. Stir every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals until the sherbet is frozen. It would take approximately 1- 2 hours.

6. Step

If using an ice cream maker, follow the manufacturer's instructions.

7. Step

Once it's frozen, serve immediately or keep in a covered container in the freezer until ready to serve.
